At Meraki we believe in a sustainable wardrobe; we do not produce lingerie that is considered fashionable, we want our products to be brought for their durability and longevity instead to just last the season. This is why we pride ourselves in producing sustainable collections bi-annually to act against fast fashion. By only creating two collections a year it gives our designers longer to polish an elegant and stand out range which allows us time to research into our fabrics and manufacturing methods. We constantly strive to improve our practices to one day produce zero waste and find the perfect process to cause no harm to the environment. As a brand, we feel that we are on a journey to complete sustainability, and we are constantly questioning ourselves and learning more after each lingerie release.
We put our products first and at the heart of our designs. We carry out screening on each of our manufacturers to ensure there are no unsafe labour or unfair practices. Meraki have ensured that each of their suppliers meet their standards of having a safe working environment, and manufacturing methods, as well as their social responsibility.
Meraki understand that the biggest polluter in the fashion industry is the carbon emissions given off. We recognise the negative impact of this and therefore realise the importance of considering the logistics of transporting goods. The method we have consequently has longer lead times due to not transporting by air, however it emits significantly less emissions.

Meraki can be defined as putting something of yourself into what you are doing. This definition really resonated with us as we want our customers to be a part of the brand, and feel as strongly about the sustainability in the fashion industry as us.
We are more than just a brand, we aim to create a community and unite like-minded individuals to form an uplifting space.
When wearing our lingerie we want women to feel empowered and confident that they can express themselves freely. It gives you the peace of mind that you are supporting so much more than just sustainable fashion, you are also improving people's quality of life, as well as safe practices and looking amazing whilst doing it.
Our mission is to continue to make the most empowering and luxurious lingerie in the world.
Wear your Meraki lingerie with pride. Be bold. Never stand still. Be different.
As a brand we never stand still. We are constantly looking at ways to be different, empower our audience and push the boundaries of sustainable fashion to make a positive impact and look sexy whilst doing it.
We want to create new ideas and perspectives around lingerie. By collaborating with other like-minded designers and charities it has enabled us to share our thoughts and gain further insight into the industry to grow stronger. This allows us to lead the path of sustainability in fashion.
Give customers a reason to do business with you.Like our tagline suggests, we believe that brand transparency is the best policy. We do not believe in 'greenwashing' our customers and we are open about what we do, and if we make a mistake we are the first to admit it and learn from it.
We are conscious of the materials we use and where we source them. We cause no unnecessary harm to the environment in the process to minimise our impact.
Stella McCartney is an English fashion designer who puts sustainability at the heart of her design. She uses materials which are organic or re-engineered to increase the lifecycle of a product.
McCartney has a signature style of natural confidence, and sensual femininity which are two factors we resonate highly with. We strive to empower like-minded women in taking a stand for what they believe in and not being afraid to express their opinions freely. We want to make a movement of strong women and empower others to do so too.
Canopy work with the forest industry's biggest customers and their suppliers to develop solutions to help businesses protect the last of the frontier Forrests. They "pursue transformation at the scale it needs to happen", and they convert large companies to make greener choices.
They target the market forces destroying tropical Forrests. Since 2001 they have been testing new approaches for tackling deforestation and guiding global companies to think differently about our planet's forests.
Clean Clothes Campaign focus on the improvement of working conditions in garment and sportswear industries. They have been working since 1989, ensuring that the fundamental rights of workers are respected. Furthermore, they educate and mobilise consumers, lobby companies and governments, and offer direct solidarity support to workers as they fight for their rights and demand better working conditions.
We have taken the decision to ship international packages from the UK by sea freight which emits a considerably less carbon emissions. Our packages may be delayed when shipping outside of the UK, however we feel that it would be against our brand ethics to transport our garments view air freight.
All of our packaging used is biodegradable, and we have designed the packaging mailer to not include any harmful glues in the constructing process. We also use natural inks which do not pose any threat to the environment.
When purchasing any item through Meraki you can have a peace of mind that you have made a step in the right direction towards a sustainable future.
